Jessica & Danny — December 13, 2023

When Jessica and Danny first found one another, they knew right away that they were made for each other. Their story contains many serendipitous moments where the universe conspired in their favor and helped guide them down the path they were meant to be on. Although they had already previously professed their love and devotion to one another, their closest friends and family gathered at The White Room in St. Augustine, FL to celebrate that love together on December 13th, 2022.

Having been married at The White Room myself, I was already excited to be back in the room capturing someone else’s love story. Jessica told me that a year before their wedding they were walking down the cobblestone streets of St Augustine when they stumbled upon a bride getting ready in the venue’s beautiful bridal suite window. At that moment she knew this was the place she wanted to celebrate their wedding day. Just a few short months later, Jessica was now that bride in the window.

From the very beginning of the day you could sense the emotion, love and support their family and friends had for them. Just before the wedding the couple did a “first touch” instead of a “first look” around a corner of the Villa Blanca. This was a fun one to shoot and after we got those shots, their pastor did a private prayer for the couple. It was a very intimate and touching moment. For me, a highlight of the day and an honor to witness.

The wedding took place inside the White Room’s elegant chapel known as the Villa Blanca. With the holidays in full effect, the room was framed with Christmas trees and a cross that really pulled in the romantic feel of the season perfectly. We were also able to use the holidays to our advantage during couple portraits as St Augustine was decorated for its infamous Night of Lights which provided some special ambiance just outside of the venue. Back inside, the reception hall was filled with the sparkle of string lights and the flickering of candles while the guests danced to the amazing Don Juancem Orchestra. A recommendation for any wedding in the area!

The band saved just enough time for one last song. A private last dance for the bride and groom while the guests waited outside to welcome the not-so newlyweds to the rest of the world with a sparkler exit. It was a perfect day and it was an honor to add these memories to a room that already was so special for me. Thank you to the White Room for providing the perfect space, to the other wedding vendors who’s collaborative efforts gave me an amazing canvas to work with, and to Jessica and Danny for choosing me to capture your love story.
